The most common delivery issue is not the final cutout; it is the path the appliance takes to get there. Hallways, doorways, interior doors, and turns all need to be wider than the appliance’s narrowest relevant dimension, which is usually width or depth.
Start with the truck-to-kitchen path. Measure the width and height of every doorway along the route. A standard interior door is 30 to 32 inches wide; most full-size washers, dryers, and refrigerators are 27 to 36 inches wide. If a doorframe is too narrow, the crew may need to remove the door and sometimes trim.
Depth-with-doors matters once the appliance is in the room. Front-load washers and dryers swing outward. Refrigerators rarely list a door-open depth in the current dataset, but their width and standard depth still affect tight turns.
